I am Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Southampton and am leading the Templeton-funded project "Self-Control in Context". My work centres on the empirically-informed philosophy of mind and action.
I am currently developing a project that studies how socioeconomic context influences our abilities for long-term agency (including goal-setting, planning, and self-control). The project will combine conceptual analysis and empirical methods. As part of the philosophical backbone for this project, during my fellowship I will be focusing on writing a new paper titled "Intentions without Plans".
