I received my academic education at Humboldt University in the departments of History and Slavic Studies. My research focus here was on the history of transatlantic relations. 
Since 2015, I have been involved in a number of externally funded projects, mainly in the field of Asian and African studies. In addition to my work at Human Abilities, I am head of administration for the BMFTR-funded research consortium Local Perspectives on Transregional Linkage and Disengagement Processes (De:link//Re:link).
